For the first 3 days after receiving your new nightguard, put in your appliance 1-2 hours prior bed. This will allow time for your mouth and brain to adjust to the new appliance prior to sleep. Subsequently, wear your appliance at night time.
Cleaning Instructions:
- Brush and floss your teeth before use.
- Rinse mouth well with clean water before inserting the nightguard.
- Rinse appliance well with clean, cool water before and after use.
- Clean the inside and outside of nightguard with clean, cool water, and let it air dry.
- If you observe plaque and tartar buildup, you may use AlignerFresh Cleaning Foam by EverSmile and a soft washcloth to gently massage away debris.
- Alternatively, you may use an ultrasonic pod, such as dental pod by Zima dental, to clean your appliance. Please do not use the cleaning crystals when doing so.
- Please avoid bleach, hydrogen peroxide, alcohol, toothpaste and hot water when cleaning your appliance.
Appliance Maintenance:
Please keep your appliance away from pets. Contact our office if the appliance has become distorted, broken, worn through or no longer fits. Please bring your appliance with you to all dental visits, in case adjustment is needed following treatment, and for professional cleaning during your dental cleaning visits.
